Karuizawa-shuku was once a busy lodging town heaving with inns on the Edo-period Nakasendo route, and travelers would also pass through here on their way to the Sea of Japan via the Hokkoku Kaido route. Today, our Japanese restaurant Karamatsu, located in the southern entrance hall of Karuizawa Prince Hotel West, has been transformed to represent the golden days of the old lodging town.
Take in a lively show of the richness of Japanese cuisine as demonstrated by experienced chefs close by, with a menu of seafood from the Sea of Japan prepared on indoor grills, Nagano rice cooked in traditional pots, a sushi counter, and more.
