From the observatory deck on the summit of Mt. Komuro,
enjoy majestic panoramic views in all directions in the clear mountain air, including Mt. Fuji to the north,
the sail-flecked Sagaminada Sea to the east, the far-off Boso Peninsula and Izu Seven Islands to the south, and the Amagi Mountains to the west.
In April, the Azalea Garden at the foot of the mountain is covered in a bright red carpet as 100,000 azalea plants of 40 different varieties bloom.
The Azalea Tunnel, a path lined on both sides by azalea bushes that soar above head height, is an immensely popular spot for taking photographs.
Dinosaur Square, near the top of the mountain, has 13 giant dinosaur statues and large-scale playground equipment to discover,
play on, and take fun photographs with. An excellent spot to take children.
Take the lift to the summit first, then, on the way down, walk through the “Jurassic Course” to access Dinosaur Square.
* Kawana Hotel is visible from the observatory deck! Be sure to look for it when you go.
