One year after renovations have been completed, our new open-air and expansive lobby – where guests are surrounded by the gentle breezes from Lake Biwa, the image of water, and the warmth and activity of people – has established itself as the new face of the Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel.

The carpet was created in the image of the waters of Lake Biwa, including representations of the depths and surface shimmers of the lake. The fountain art is an expression of “fluttering sails,” the “rising wind,” and “floating feathers,” and represents our hopes that new scenes can emerge from the various stories of the journeys experienced by our many guests!

And what’s more, we have coordinated environmental space designs utilizing 100% natural aroma oils from @aroma, to welcome and send off our guests with fragrances selected to match the season.
Our autumn fragrance features a theme of Japanese plants, nature, and culture – a blend of oils which uniquely evoke the aesthetic sense of this country: IKI from the Japanese Air Series – a refreshing blend of cedar, juniper, and cypress.
