Sakura Blossom Festival

The sakura blossom viewing season in Hakone is from late April to early May, slightly later than in Tokyo. The nearby Hakone-en has an 80-year old Oshima sakura with spectacular blossoms that make it an annual feature in newspapers—in fact, it’s actually one tree formed of five trees that have merged together.
