Main Building

This room was used as Hisaya Iwasaki’s own living room when the Iwasaki family still lived at Sanyo-so. The guest room consists of two rooms and has a wide edge veranda surrounding the tatami mats. The Matsukaze, located in the middle of the garden, is the room with the most beautiful location. When visitors sit in the main room and look out at the garden, they can enjoy the traditional atmosphere of good old fashioned Japanese homes.

New Building

The 10 main buildings have long been cherished by prominent figures as a building that represents Japanese ryokans (inns) as well as buildings which show off the skills of many famous architects and designers. The guest rooms’ names originate from the traditional Japanese performances of “Noh.” Each guest room has a unique look, which shows in the details of each room’s alcove posts, the horizontal pieces of timber used in the building’s framework, girders, fanlights and other parts.
