Shimoda Port Tour (Izu Cruise)

Board the black ship, Susquehanna, for a sightseeing cruise that sails a circuit of the port of Shimada,
where Japan was opened up to the world in the late 19th century.

Highlights of the cruise include the view of the coastal town,
the point where the Black Ships led by Commodore Perry dropped anchor, Benten Island,
where Yoshida Shoin is said to have hidden in his foiled plot to board one of Perry’s ships to sail to America, and views of Minami-Izu in the distance.

From autumn to spring, passengers can feed the seagulls from the ship.

* Extra charge of 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for children for seats on the 2nd floor.
* Seagull feed can be purchased for 100 yen.
