This vast plateau covers an area of 125 hectares (equivalent to 26 Tokyo Domes, the famous baseball stadium in Japan).
In spring, you can enjoy picking wild edible plants such as warabi (bracken fern) and zenmai (flowering fern),
and in autumn, the plateau turns into a vast golden sea of susuki (Japanese pampas grass).
The spectacular views of the Izu Islands in Sagaminada Sea are also a must-see.
Everything on the Hosono Plateau is accessed on foot, so be sure to dress comfortably.
There is a free shuttle bus to Misujishita, which has magnificent views.
