Komyo-ji Temple
Komyo-ji Temple is famous for the lotus plants found in the Kishu Garden,
which have also been selected in the “Top 100 flower viewing spots of Kanagawa”.
The temple, originally named Renge-ji Temple built in 1243 in an area called Sasukegayatsu was relocated to the current location and renamed.
Views of Kamakura city, Yuigahama beach, Enoshima,
and on a clear day, Mt. Fuji can be seen from Mt. Tensho rising behind the temple.
This view, selected as one the top 50 views in Kanagawa,
was also used as the filming location for Shin Godzilla, in the scene when Godzilla comes ashore at Yuigahama.
